東吾妻町は自然豊かな町です。国の名勝吾妻渓谷をはじめ、吾妻八景の一つ岩櫃山、ホタルが飛び交う名水百選の箱島湧水、そして、町内には川中、松の湯、温川、鳩ノ湯、薬師、岩櫃城、あづま、吾妻の８つの温泉と町営の国民宿舎榛名吾妻荘があります。岩櫃城温泉「くつろぎの館」は総合活性化施設「岩櫃ふれあいの郷」の中にある温泉センターで観光の拠点として町内外から多くの人が訪れています。また、東吾妻町は全国有数の水仙の産地として知られ、春には黄色の花が町内を埋めつくします。

Higashiagatsuma is a town full of nature. In this town, there are :The beautiful Agatsuma Ravine, Mt.Iwabitsu, Natural spring water in Hakojima., and eight hot springs. Many people visit those beautiful places every year. Higashiagatsuma is known to many people as a town of narcissus; the yellow flower that covers the town in spring.

◆東吾妻の温泉　Higashiagatsuma's Hot Springs

　戦国時代「武田三堅城」と称された岩櫃城をモチーフとした温泉センター。３時間４００円と料金も手頃です。広々とした浴室と自然の風情を取り入れた露天風呂をはじめ、新鮮な山の幸が味わえるレストラン、気軽にくつろげるラウンジや大広間、町並みを見下ろす天守閣の見晴台展望台など、くつろぎが満喫できます。

"Kutsuroginoyakata" is a good hot spring resort for a day trip. At this hot spring,which was once acastle; there are two (bath) room-one inside and one outside. Also, there is a restaurant and an observation deck. Many people feel at home here.

　温川温泉は別名「眼の湯」といわれ、硼酸を含む泉質は、眼病によく効くと伝えられています。温川のせせらぎを聞きながらゆっくり露天風呂につかり、旅の開放感を実感。清流の川魚料理が自慢です。

　傷ついた鳩がこの温泉につかって傷をいやしていたといわれる「鳩ノ湯」。江戸時代から栄えた湯治場は今も昔ながらの雰囲気を漂わせています。天候により乳白色になる湯は痔疾、神経痛によく効くといわれています。

Once upon a time, three doves cured of a wound at this hot spring. Thus it was named a "thin milk-colored hot water",good for curing hemorrhoids and neuralgia.

　自然石をふんだんに使った露天風呂と檜の香り漂う内湯が自慢の日帰り温泉です。また、風呂から望める奇勝「岩井洞」の雄大な眺めは格別です。豪農の館をイメージした建物には囲炉裏などもあり、いたるところから和の風情が漂います。

We are proud of the outdoor bath made of stone and Japanese cypress, When you bathe you can enjoy the smell of the wood in the steam from the bath. While you cannot spend the night, you can stop here for a few hours of relaxation.

◆水仙　Narcissus

　町の花・水仙は、切り花の生産量では全国有数の産地として知られています。ハウス栽培を中心に１２月下旬から２月上旬頃までが出荷の最盛期となります。露地ではこの出荷用水仙の球根が育成され４月上旬から中旬にかけ、これらの球根が一斉に花を咲かせます。上信越の山々にまだ残る雪の白さと辺り一面に咲いた黄色いジュウタンとのコントラストはすばらしく、東吾妻の春の風物詩となっています。

◆箱島湧水　Natural spring water in Hakojima

　日本名水百選に選ばれた箱島湧水は箱島不動尊境内の大杉の根本から湧き出ています。日量３万トンもの豊富な湧出量を誇り、湧水を源とする鳴沢川では、毎年６月中旬から７月末にかけて、ホタルが乱舞する姿が見られます。

It was chosen as one of the top 100 springs in Japan. It has an output of about 30,000 tons a day. We can see many fireflies at the Narusawa River in the middle of June until the end of July every year. It is very fantastic !

◆浅間隠山　Mt.Asamakakushi

　標高１７５７ｍ。頂上からは浅間山、北アルプス、上信越の山々、遠く関東平野を望めます。浅間隠温泉郷の登山口から約２時間強。高山植物に目を楽しませながら、ゆるやかな山道を登ると途中からきつい上り坂に変化します。シャクナゲ尾根と呼ばれるシャクナゲの群生や頂上付近にはレンゲツツジが斜面一帯に広がっています。浅間隠山は、浅間を隠してしまうことからその名がついた山。頂上部が２つの峰に分かれているような姿から矢筈山との別名もあります。岩櫃山とともに東吾妻町を代表する山の一つです。

Mt.Asamakakushi(1757m) provides an excellent panorama of Mt.Asama, the northern Japanese Alps, the peaks of the Joshin'etsu Range and even the Kanto Plain. Rhododendrons bloom along the path to the peak and Renge-Tsutsuji bloom on the slopes of this mountain.

◆吾妻渓谷　Agatsuma Gorge

　吾妻渓谷は、吾妻川にかかる雁ガ沢橋から八ツ場大橋までの約３．５㎞にわたる渓谷。昭和１０年に国の名勝に指定されました。右岸に沿った川原湯温泉から1.8㎞の探勝遊歩道は、ゆっくり歩いて片道４０分の家族向きのハイキングコース。特にムラサキツツジ（ミツバツツジ）の咲く４月中旬、新緑におおわれる５月、紅葉の美しい１０月下旬から１１月上旬にかけてが、渓谷探勝に最高のシーズンです。

During autumn, Agatsuma Gorge is a splendid place to visit with itscolored leaves all around. The best time to visit is at the end of October or the beginning of November. There is a hiking course suitable for families. The hike is a bont 40 minutes long.

◆岩櫃山　Mt.Iwabitsu

　岩櫃山は標高８０２ｍの岩山で、吾妻八景を代表する景勝地として知られています。南面は約２００ｍの絶壁。奇岩怪岩からなる切り立った山容は、中国の南画のような趣があります。山頂からの眺望はすばらしく、眼下には原町や中之条の市街地、眼前には上州の山々が広がり、晴れた日には遠く富士山も望めます。新緑と紅葉のシーズンには多くのハイカーでにぎわいます。

Mt.Iwabitsu is a craggy rock mountain. The south side is about 200m precipices. The view from the top is very splendid and a mountaineer can see Mt. Fuji on a clear day.

◆榛名湖　Lake Haruna
