片品村は、群馬県の東北端に位置し、北は新潟・福島、東は栃木の各県に接しています。平成１９年８月に日光国立公園から独立した尾瀬国立公園をはじめ、武尊山、白根山、燧ヶ岳、至仏山など２０００ｍ級の山々に囲まれた山地です。村内を国道１２０号、４０１号線が通り、沼田市へは、３５キロ、県庁所在地の前橋市へは７０キロの距離にあります。東京へは沼田ＩＣから関越自動車道を利用すると約２時間３０分と、日帰り観光圏内に含まれます。

Katashina Village is located in northeastern Gunma, with Niigata and Fukushima to the north and Tochigi to the east. Oze National Park, which was established as a separate entity from Nikko National Park in August of 2006, is located in this village. It is a mountainous region surrounded by the 2000m or taller peaks of Mount Hotaka, Mount Shirane, Hiuchigatake, and Mount Shibutsu. From Route 120 and Route 401, Katashina is 35km from Numata City, and 70km from Maebashi City where the Prefectural Government Buildings are located. Tokyo is 2 hours and 30 minutes away from the Numata Interchange on the Kanetsu Expressway, making a visit to Katashina a great option for a day trip.

　片品村で春の訪れを告げるのがザゼンソウの開花です。このザゼンソウは４月上旬に花咲菖蒲沢の湿原や同じ花咲の針山で見られます。また、４月下旬になると越本水芭蕉の森と大清水で可憐なミズバショウの開花が始まり、いよいよ片品でも春の行楽シーズン本番となります。また、同時期に国道１２０号線金精道路が開通することで多くの観光客訪れるようになります。
　尾瀬でも５月中旬となると、ようやく厚く積もった雪の下から、小さなミズバショウの可憐なつぼみが開き尾瀬のシーズンは始まります。尾瀬は年間３５万人もの観光客が豊かな自然に会いにやってくる、群馬県を代表する観光地です。その豊かな自然は、「尾瀬憲章」によって守られています。
　他にも、武尊高原では６月からレンゲツツジ群落や森林浴が楽しめます。

A visit to Katashina in spring coincides with the wetland cabbage flowers blooming. These flowers bloom in early April, and you can see them at the Shobuzawa wetlands and at Mount Hari. In addition, in late April, beautiful arum lilies bloom in the Koshimoto Mizubasho Forest and in Oshimizu, and without a doubt, this is the highlight of the Katashina spring season. Also at this time, the Konsei Road section of Route 120 is officially open and many tourists come to visit.
In mid-May, at long last the pretty buds of the Oze arum lilies begin to burst through the heavy snow signifying the start of spring. Oze represents the best of Gunma's tourist spots, with 350,000 tourists coming each year to see the beautiful abundance of nature there. This natural splendor is protected by the "Oze Charter".
In addition, from June of each year you can enjoy seeing clusters of mountain azaleas while bathing in the forests of the Hotaka Highlands.

　片品の秋は、鮮やかに木々の葉が色づき、華やかな季節です。金精道路や坤六峠へのドライブで紅葉狩を楽しんだ後は、りんご、きのこ狩りで秋の味覚を堪能することもできます。他にも、村内の国道120号線沿いに「とうもろこし街道」と呼ばれ、焼きたてのとうもろこしや新鮮な野菜を売る店が道路沿いに並び、おいしい物を購入することもできます。また、黄金色に染まった尾瀬や村内の山々を、ハイキングや登山で散策すれば静かな片品の秋を満喫できます。

Katashina's autumn is a vibrant season with the leaves changing into rich reds, oranges and golds.. After taking a drive along Konsei Road or through the Konroku Pass and enjoying the autumn scenery, you can savor the season of autumn by trying apple picking or mushroom picking. There are also stalls along a section of Route 120 known as the "Corn Trail" which sell piping hot charcoal grilled corn on the cob, fresh vegetables and other tasty foods. In addition, you can enjoy Katashina's tranquil autumn by hiking through the yellow and gold covered mountains of Oze or strolling within Katashina Village itself.
